Why are you running?
To effect some changes that will ultimately result in better performance of Burnaby students. I note that academic performance in most Burnaby schools is on the decline. The present group of trustees lack teaching or administrative experience in education. Another reason for running is to offer residents an option that will more truly reflect the diversity of our community as opposed to the one party monopoly that presently exists.
Top three issues you want to work on:
- Improving overall academic performance
- Providing more programs in accordance with individual needs to retain students leaving public schools in favor of other options
- Engaging our community more to establish expectations and priorities in accordance with the role of a trustee
