Why are you running?
Burnaby was once called a “best run city,” but the population in Burnaby has since increased and will continue to grow dramatically. There will be new highrises but no long-term road solution to cope with increased traffic. Those traffic jams we enjoy everyday will simply get worse. We are convinced that recycling is good for everyone yet Burnaby is moving to incinerate everything – recyclable or not. We still have the same number of police as we had nine years ago. Homelessness is still an issue while the mayor shamefully denied it. It is unacceptable to have our taxes increase every year, while the services provided cannot keep up. It is time for a change. We need to move forward, and that’s the reason I am running – to solve problems that affect our daily life.
