Modern schooling was designed by psychologists, not educators, and is a bane to our humanity and potential. Wundt thought we have no souls, Thorndike thought we are animals, Dewey thought society more important than individuality, yet such pathetic men and their shallow ideas have infiltrated teachers colleges, undermined the curricula and ruined the educational system of this continent. There is no other independent candidate who has the liberty, let alone the sense, to say so and to affect policy accordingly. The compulsion laws have naturally bred tyranny. Compulsory government indoctrination and conditioning is not a real education. … Oh, how the students suffer, like mice and monkeys in experiments. … How can we bear this oppression any longer? … The issue is not at all related to funding, and modern students need now, more than ever, a modern student to represent them.
