Why are you running?
To ensure quality of education is maintained and to provide a safe and supportive environment for all Burnaby’s students to reach their full learning potential. My past experience as a Governor of Langara College, Trustee of the Burnaby Public Library and Pacific Blue Cross, Director of the Burnaby Family Life Institute, the Vancouver Community Legal Assistance Society and Forest Renewal BC provided me with a varied background and skill set to effectively fulfil my duties as a School Board Trustee.
Top three issues you want to work on:
- Expand our Multi-aged Cluster Classrooms to support our high-ability learners.
- Improve supports and classroom conditions for special needs students
- Work with our partner groups and Trustees throughout the Province, to lobby for proper funding from the Provincial Government to eliminate Burnaby’s projected shortfalls of 22 million dollars over the next three years
