A portable baby playpen and basketball hoop sold on Amazon.ca has been recalled by Health Canada, due to a fire and entrapment hazard.
Health Canada has advised consumers to stop using the product, which was made in China, immediately and contact the seller to request a new fabric cover.
Specifically, the black mesh part of the fabric cover poses a flammability hazard. In addition, the top corners of the playpen can allow a child’s head to pass through, posing an entrapment hazard.

Consumers can contact [email protected] to request a new fabric cover.
The affected product is identified by model number SQ01, while the playpen is made of stainless steel with an attached red fabric cover and black breathable mesh.
The product was sold on Amazon.ca and can also be identified by the Amazon ASIN number B07SL36TZD.
Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that this playpen does not meet the requirements of the Playpens Regulations.
The affected products were sold from April 2021 to February 2022.
