If you're anxiously waiting to be vaccinated against coronavirus (COVID-19), don't resort to purchasing anything online to speed up the process.
ImmunizeBC is warning the public that COVID-19 vaccines advertised or sold online are scams, and potentially pose health risks.
"These scams take advantage of genuine fears and worries, targeting those who are most vulnerable in our communities," explains a Tweet from the organization.
Not only are these products counterfeit, and therefore won't prevent you from getting COVID-19, but they may pose risks to health.

Where to access COVID-19 vaccines in B.C.
The only way to access safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines is through clinics organized or endorsed by your local public health authority.
If you come across any counterfeit COVID-19 vaccines, report any information to Health Canada.
The COVID-19 immunization program will involve making vaccines available to everyone in the province who the vaccine is recommended for and who would like to be vaccinated.
B.C. hopes to have vaccine available for all those who choose to vaccinated by the end of 2021. However, it will take time before there’s enough vaccine for everyone.
Even though some people will be able to receive a COVID-19 vaccine soon, it is still very important to follow public health orders, wash your hands, physical distance, wear a mask and stay home when sick. These layers of protection are still essential for all people in B.C.
