B.C.'s Ministry of Transportation has closed Highway 1 between Abbotsford and Chilliwack as of 5 p.m. Nov. 28.
As floodwaters threaten the major highway the ministry has decided to close it between McCallum Road at Exit 90 and Yale Road at Exit 109, states a press release.

There's no estimated time for it to reopen.
Highway 1 is also closed east of Highway 9 through to the Bridal Falls area in advance of the current storms, and further up at Boothroyd due to the previous mudslides.
Highway 7 is still open as a route going east-west through the Fraser Valley.
Earlier in the day the ministry explained via Twitter that ground saturation is also affecting the safety of some B.C. highways.
Rain is expected to continue to cause problems for the Fraser Valley and B.C., in general, this upcoming week.
