New Twitter account captures the most bizarre moments of B.C. politics

"If you were woke you'd know that pro-rep is lit."
GordonHogg
Gordon Hogg, MLA and rapper.

Which of these lines were spoken in B.C.'s legislature?

"You're so fly, rappin' when sing!"

"Thank you honourable speaker; when was the last time you had a bowel movement?"

"The power of salmon is in all of us and I think every member of this house would agree."

"Do some history man!"

If you picked any of them, or all of them, you'd be correct. And now highlights like "It's a global pandemic, dude!" are being shared by @NoContextBCGov on Twitter. Launched last month, it's shared a couple dozen videos from the world of B.C. politics.

While most Canadians probably consider provincial politics as a slow, menial and/or boring world, whoever is behind this account (it's anonymous and while Vancouver is Awesome has reached out we've yet to hear anything back) is pulling out some gems to share with the rest of the world.

That last one likely inspired the account's bio: "Wu-Tang is forever... and Hansard" referencing the arguably greatest hip hop group of all time and the transcripts of the debates held by MLAs.

While most come from the legislature in Victoria, there are other clips, mostly featuring Premier John Horgan, from other places.

While policy wonks, political reporters and party members may enjoy or even recall these clips, for those not familiar with the world of B.C. politics may find the posts a funny introduction into what goes on in Victoria, or just downright bizarre.
