Three Burnaby restaurants came out on top in the annual Chinese Restaurant Awards.
The winners of the 11th annual awards were announced this week with Burnaby’s own Chao Shou Wang winning Best Sichaun Chili Oil Wonton.
YiFang Taiwan Fruit Tree and Dinesty Dumpling House, which both have locations in Burnaby, were named Best Taiwanese Restaurant/BBT Café and Best Shanghainese Restaurant, respectively.
Two other Burnaby eateries were also recognized as honourable mentions in the awards.
Xiang Yuan Qiao Bridge Rice Noodle, located in the Crystal Mall food court, came second for Best Food Court Stall, while Chengdu Spicy Restaurant, which has a location in Metrotown at 4300 Kingsway, was the honourable mention for Best Sichaun Restaurant.
This year, more than 3,700 nominations were submitted and more than 32,700 votes were cast for the diners’ choice awards. Winners and honourable mentions are invited to a special awards gala in April at the River Rock Show Theatre.
