Friday's Rogers Communications Inc. network outage left many Canadians without phone services and payment methods, including 911 services and debit transactions.
The Toronto-based telecommunications company says it started restoring mobile and internet service late Friday, already bringing many customers back online, but the company has no timeline on when networks will be fully restored.
"On behalf of all of us here at Rogers, Rogers for Business, Fido, chatr and cityfone, I want to sincerely apologize for this service interruption and the impact it is having on people from coast to coast to coast," chief executive and president of Rogers, Tony Staffieri, said in an open letter the same day.
Staffieri also said they will "proactively apply a credit to all customers impacted by the outage."
However, customers didn't seem overly enthusiastic about the credit. "Has Rogers announced their $1.00 credit for yesterday?" one Twitter user replied to the news.
