Eleven LG electric ranges have been recalled by Health Canada after reports of fire hazards.

One minor burn and a minor cut have led to a nationwide recall on a series of electric ranges by LG Electronics Canada.

Health Canada said the company has received 10 incident reports as of Feb. 12, two of which led to injuries.

The 11 ranges associated with the recall have front-mounted knobs that can be activated "by accidental contact by humans or pets," the government entity explained on Feb. 26, posing as a fire hazard.

Affected products include LG slide-in and freestanding electric ranges with five surface elements that are 30 inches wide and come in black and stainless-steel colour (see image above and details below).

According to Health Canada, a total of 137,257 of the impacted units were sold across the country between May 2016 and June 2024.

The model number is located on the ranges inside the oven door or storage drawer located on the bottom of the oven.
