The Metro Vancouver weather forecast includes several storms starting Tuesday, March 4, 2025, as a low-pressure system moves into the region.

A series of storms will bring moisture to the B.C. coast this week but locals will enjoy some sunshine between rainy spells.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Lisa Ervin tells V.I.A. a "typical" frontal system made its way into coastal B.C. on Tuesday, March 4, and will produce intermittent showers through the evening.

Skies are expected to clear overnight, with a 30 per cent chance of showers on Wednesday. Thursday's forecast includes clear skies and sunshine, with temperatures falling a few degrees overnight to 2 C.

The dry trend will persist through Friday although clouds will start rolling into the region.

Ervin says several storms heading south down the B.C. coast will arrive in the Lower Mainland on either Saturday or Sunday. However, it is too early to tell how much rainfall the region will receive.

The storms will impact coastal areas and Vancouver Island but there should be an "abrupt boundary between those who see heavy rain and those who see lighter showers," Ervin notes.

The incoming low-pressure system's exact track is unknown but Metro Vancouver could have greater rainfall depending on its path.

"The train of storms will likely target one area instead of spreading out," she adds.

Heading into next week, Ervin says a showery pattern will likely continue although no major storms are on the horizon.

March is expected to see above or near-normal temperatures to start, but the signal for the rest of the month is unclear.
