Union of B.C. Municipalities delegates Sept. 18 voted the mini donuts at the Pacific National Exhibition to be the “absolute best” summer fair treat in the province.
Hundreds of delegates in an electronic vote said by an overwhelming 71 per cent that the donuts beat out peanuts or cotton candy.
The vote was the first vote taken at UBCM's annual general meeting in Vancouver.
Such first votes are usually based on a light and humourous topic, as they are a test of the voting system.
Plenary resolutions chair Pete Fry, a Vancouver city councillor, said the vote recognized the PNE faves are ”fantastic.”
The vote was the start of a session to discuss and vote on resolutions for lobbying senior governments on policy changes.
Fry said a record 267 resolutions were on tap for the sessions running through Sept. 20
