An early morning stabbing forced a service disruption on a portion of a Vancouver SkyTrain line and the closure of the Yaletown-Roundhouse Canada Line station.
The Vancouver Police Department confirmed with Glacier Media that it is investigating a stabbing that took place at Mainland and Davie at about 1 a.m. Friday.
"One person has been arrested," VPD Cst. Tania Visintin said in an email.
The victim, 32, has been taken to the hospital.
Visintin added that the VPD hopes to provide an update on the incident today.
In response to the stabbing and ensuing investigation, TransLink closed down the
TransLink posted a notice at 6:19 a.m. on Jan. 31 indicating a police incident had prmpted the closure of the Yaletown–Roundhouse Station. A spokesperson for TransLink noted that bus service was in place to move passengers to Vancouver City Centre Station.
Transit Supervisors and Transit Security were on hand to assist customers at affected stations. The Expo Line and Millennium Line were unaffected.
At 8:52 a.m. TransLink provided an update indicating the Canada Line disruption was over and the incident was resolved. Operations have resumed regular service and the Yaletown-Roundhouse station is open.
