The Old Farmer's Almanac calls for sizzling temperatures across Canada this summer.
In its recently released summer 2022 forecast, the reference book forecasts a toasty summer across most of North America, noting that "the summer heat won’t be stopped at the border" and Western Canada should see intense heat toward the end of July.
"Many localities during that time will be dealing with highs of 30 to 35 C," notes the report.
On the other side of Canada, the forecast includes overall averages leaning near “seasonably warm” temperatures. This is expected to be in part due to "unseasonably cool" temperatures in September, however.
Early August is expected to include "blistering hot" temperatures across much of Canada, while "British Columbia Day festivities will be held under changeable skies along with a few widely scattered showers," according to the report authors.
The intense heat is expected to dissipate after mid-August, but B.C. is expected to have "unusually dry" conditions.
Towards the end of September cooler weather may produce some snowfall in parts of the Rocky Mountains.
