Vancouver police re-arrest 'violent' man wanted Canada-wide

Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 immediately.

A man with a history of violent offences and who failed to return to a halfway house last week as per court order has been re-arrested in Vancouver.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) announced Elwood Poorman was found in the Downtown Eastside on Monday, July 22, after a Canada-wide warrant went out last week.

He was re-arrested and taken to jail, state police in a press release.

The VPD says Poorman, 42, signed out of his halfway house on Tuesday, July 16 and failed to return. His court-ordered conditions require him to return to the halfway house every day.
