The New Vista care home in Burnaby is hosting a foot care clinic, where seniors can get help with foot problems.

Did you know nails get thicker with age? That’s one of the reasons seniors may need helping trimming their toenails as part of a regular foot care routine.

Burnaby’s New Vista care home hosts a regular foot care clinic, and the next event is on Thursday, Sept. 1. A registered foot care nurse will be on site to help seniors with any foot care issues they may have.

After an initial assessment, the nurse can help with nail trimming and filing, skin care, diabetic foot care, infection or fungus control, ingrown nails, corns, and callouses. The nurse can also offer tips on proper foot care. Sessions are by appointment only and usually run for about half an hour. The first session is $35, follow up sessions are $33.

To book an appointment, call 604-521-7764, ext. 1159. The clinic is open to anyone in the community, not just New Vista residents. New Vista is at 7550 Rosewood St.
