The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts is expanding its livestreamed concert lineup to include jazz nights on Sundays.
The Shadbolt has just announced Cellarstream, a new series of jazz and soul concerts running every Sunday in November. Performers will be onstage in the Studio Theatre, with the show livestreaming to audiences around the world.
A press release from the City of Burnaby notes performances are filmed through a multi-camera set-up, with world-class audio recording equipment to capture the sounds of some of Canada’s top musicians.
Pianist Sharon Minemoto and her quartet headline the first Cellarstream concert on Nov. 1, while jazz and gospel legend Dee Daniels takes to the stage with her four-piece band on Nov. 8.
Nov. 15 will see the debut of Cory Weeds’ Weeds With Strings project, which features a 12-piece string orchestra and multiple Juno Award-winning saxophonist Phil Dwyer.
Steve Maddock, the powerhouse Burnaby-based jazz and blues vocalist, is up on Nov. 22, while saxophonist Steve Kaldestad will pay tribute to the legendary American saxophonist George Coleman with a performance on Nov. 29.
The Live (Streaming) at the ’Bolt concert series is also continuing every Thursday evening until Dec. 3.
Vancouver soul singer Dawn Pemberton is up on Oct. 22, while Monica Lee brings her powerful voice, sense of humour and poetic chops to the stage on Oct. 29.
Performances begin at 8 p.m., with pre-show performances at 7:30 p.m.
Along with the livestreams, limited seating is available in the theatre for each performance, in accordance with COVID-19 public health guidelines.
Live tickets are $20, while online streaming tickets are $10 for all shows.
