The Japanese Canadian National Museum is presenting an acclaimed film to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Japanese-Canadian internment. The War Between Us will screen at the National Nikkei Museum and Heritage Centre on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m.

The War Between Us will screen at the National Nikkei Museum and Heritage Centre on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m.

The film takes place during the Second World War in the Interior of B.C. and deals with the effect of the Canadian government's internment policy on the West Coast Japanese-Canadian community. The film was nominated for six Gemini Awards and was the highest-rated film broadcast on Canadian TV in 1995. It's directed by Anne Wheeler and stars Shannon Lason and Mieko Ouchi. Admission is by donation. The Nikkei Centre is at 6688 Southoaks Cres.
