Dance and technology meet in a unique performance that’s coming to Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.

Radical System Art is bringing Telemetry loop to the stage Thursday, Nov. 21 to Saturday, Nov. 23.

The show is a reimagining of the company’s most successful work, Telemetry, and it’s described as a “360 degree immersive experience.”

Telemetry loop looks to transmit the art forms of bebop footwork, swing and tap dance with house and contemporary dance, supported by a live-interactive environment of light, sound and video,” explains a write-up about the show. “This environment is controlled by a singular source, returning to concepts around radio science and the idea of a control tower.”

In Telemetry loop, the tap dancer is the control tower – directly controlling the lighting, video and sound throughout the piece.

Radical System Art was formed in February 2014 in Vancouver and aims to expand the art of physical performance through the lens of dance, martial arts, theatre, music and other art forms, blending multiple genres of art. It’s led by artistic director Shay Kuebler.

Telemetry loop plays in the Studio Theatre at Shadbolt Centre, 6450 Deer Lake Ave. It’s on at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, plus a 10 p.m. show on Thursday, Nov. 21 and a 4 p.m. show on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Tickets are $36. Buy through tickets.shadboltcentre.com or 604-205-3000.
