The game's afoot for Heritage Christmas

Forte Theatre brings Sherlock Holmes' Christmas Goose to the stage at Burnaby Village Museum

Forte Theatre Society is back at Burnaby Village Museum for its third Heritage Christmas production.

The theatre group returns this season with Sherlock Holmes’ Christmas Goose, showing at the village’s Brookfield Hall on weekends until Dec. 13.

The story, of course, centres on the famed detective, who must solve the theft of the Christmas goose and the blue carbuncle – on Christmas Day.

It’s directed by Burnaby’s Nancy von Euw, a seasoned actor and voice-over artist and a founding partner and director of DramaNatrix Productions.

Her cast of predominantly Burnaby residents includes Gavin LeClaire as Sherlock Holmes, a known “triple threat” performer starring in his first play at Burnaby Village Museum. Karissa Ketter, a Joey Award winner, is on board as Watson in her sixth Heritage Christmas production.

Adam Tatelman, a Burnaby actor and playwright, joins the cast as Commissioner Peterson and Mr. Breckinridge, while Douglas College theatre grad Levi Williams appears as James Ryder.

Cecily Sheehan-Klassen as Baker makes her theatrical debut in the production.

Sherlock Holmes’ Christmas Gooseis onstage Saturdays and Sundays from Nov. 21 to Dec. 13, playing at 2:30, 4 and 6:30 p.m. each day.

Forte Theatre society was founded in 2013 to provide family-oriented theatre productions and opportunities for amateur theatre artists. The non-profit group operates courtesy of volunteers and donations, and it’s partnering with Burnaby Village Museum for its third show.
