There's no such thing as too many cookies, at least this week.
Eighteen Tim Hortons locations in Burnaby are raising money for BC Children’s Hospital through its annual Smile Cookie campaign until Sunday (May 7).
According to Tim Hortons, 100 per cent of proceeds from Smile Cookie sales are going directly to involved charities. In 2022, more than $15 million was raised nation-wide for more than 600 community groups.
"Each year, BC Children’s Hospital provides specialized care to more than 138,000 kids throughout the province," Rita Thodos, executive vice-president of Philanthropy at BC Children's Hospital, said in a news release.
"The community support we receive from passionate partners like Tim Hortons is essential in our work to overcome childhood illnesses and improve the lives of countless kids and families. We are grateful to everyone who adds a little sweetness to their day, or someone else's, with the purchase of a Smile Cookie this week.
"Proceeds raised from campaigns like Smile Cookie go directly towards ground-breaking research, state-of-the-art technology, and programs that support clinical care, to ensure that sick and injured children across B.C. receive the best care possible."
Cookies are $1.50 each plus tax for the 2023 initiative.
