An 81-year-old pedestrian hit by a car in Burnaby last week has died of her injuries, according to police.
The woman, a Burnaby resident, was taken to hospital in critical condition after being hit Friday at about 1 p.m. at the intersection of Imperial Street and Sussex Avenue, according to a Burnaby RCMP news release.
On Tuesday morning, police announced the woman had died.
“Burnaby RCMP’s criminal collision investigation team continue to investigate and are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision or potentially have dash-cam video in the area when the collision took place to please contact the Burnaby RCMP,” stated the release.
Speed and alcohol are not suspected to have been factors in the crash, according to police, and the driver remained on scene and continues to cooperate with the investigation.
