Numerous Halloween events across Burnaby didn't scare away visitors.
In fact, it did the opposite.
The City of Burnaby says more than 50,000 attendees were recorded from Oct. 23 to Nov. 1 at events like Central Spark, Haunted Village, themed Toonie Skates and celebrations at recreation facilities.
“It’s wonderful to see the community coming out to enjoy these events and it’s great to hear the positive feedback from residents and visitors alike,” Mayor Mike Hurley said in a news release.
“These events not only provide fun and entertainment but also strengthen our community bonds.”
A breakdown of attendance by event was as follows, according to the city:
- Central Spark (Oct. 25) - More than 35,000 attendees
- Haunted Village (Oct. 23 to 27) - More than 16,000
The City of Burnaby extends thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors and City staff who made these events possible," the release added.
"Their dedication and hard work ensured a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone."
Happy Halloween Burnaby! Have fun and be safe tonight. 👻🎃
