B.C. Votes 2024: Live updates on Burnaby election night results

Polls in the provincial election closed at 8 p.m.

Burnaby will have five MLAs representing them in Victoria after tonight's election results.

The NOW will have live results and coverage below throughout the night after polls officially close at 8 p.m.


8:25 p.m.

Incumbent Anne Kang is leading in Burnaby Centre over Conservative Party of BC candidate Dharam Kajal. 

In Burnaby East, BC NDP candidate Reah Arora is leading Conservative Party of BC candidate Simon Chandler.

Incumbent Raj Chouhan is leading in Burnaby-New Westminster over Deepak Suri of the Conservative Party of BC.

In Burnaby North, incumbent Janet Routledge is leading over Conservative Party of BC candidate Michael Wu. 

BC NDP candidate Paul Choi currently leads in Burnaby South-Metrotown over Conservative Party of BC candidate Han Lee.

 

8:40 p.m.

BC NDP candidates continue to hold leads in all five Burnaby ridings.

Anne Kang leads Dharam Kajal with 56.85 per cent of the vote compared to Dharam Kajal's 43.15 per cent. 

Reah Arora leads in Burnaby East with 50.53 per cent of the vote over Simon Chandler of the Conservative Party of BC's 41.50 per cent. 

Raj Chouhan holds the lead in Burnaby-New Westminster with 59.40 per cent of the vote compared to Deepak Suri of the Conservative Party of BC's 35.11 per cent. 

Janet Routledge holds 51.43 per cent of the vote in Burnaby North over Mchael Wu of the Conservative Party of BC's 44.72 per cent.

And in Burnaby South-Metrotown, BC NDP candidate Paul Choi leads over Conservative Party of BC's Han Lee.

 

8:55 p.m.

In Burnaby Centre, it appears Anne Kang will retain her seat in the B.C. legislature with 56 per cent of the vote with 14 out of 16 boxes reporting.

In Burnaby East, it appears Reah Arora will be a new Burnaby MLA with 16 out of 18 boxes reporting and Arora leading with 49 per cent of the vote compared to Simon Chandler (42.46 per cent). 

In Burnaby-New Westminster, Raj Chouhan leads with 58.76 per cent of the vote with 11 out of 17 ballot boxes reporting. 

Janet Routledge holds 51.52 per cent of the vote in Burnaby North with 13 out of 17 boxes reporting. 

And in Burnaby South-Metrotown, with 12 out of 17 boxes reporting, Paul Choi leads over Conservative Party of BC candidate Han Lee.

 

9:40 p.m.

Elections BC results project incumbents Anne Kang, Raj Chouhan and Janet Routledge will all return to the legislature in Victoria.

Both running for the first time, Reah Arora and Paul Choi are projected to represent Burnaby East and Burnaby South-Metrotown respectively. 

Routledge, representing Burnaby North, will be serving her fourth term while Anne Kang will be serving her third term representing Burnaby Centre. 

Raj Chouhan, elected in Burnaby-New Westminster, will be serving his sixth term.
