Short biography

I have lived in Burnaby for the past 13 years. I graduated with a Bachelor of Business administration specializing in accounting and served two years in the army reserves as an infantry soldier. Since, I have worked as a staff accountant for a public practice accounting firm.

Why are you running for provincial office?

I’m running because I believe that the current provincial government has failed British Columbians in making our province free and prosperous. As a life-long British Columbian, I have witnessed the steep decline of our beautiful province with regards to our healthcare system, lack of crime enforcement, and the unaffordability of our province. As a young adult, I feel that the current government has failed to equip other young adults with the tools they need to live long and fruitful lives. Similarly, I hope to encourage other young adults to get involved in politics and take charge of their future.

What are the top three issues facing Burnaby today, and what are your plans to address them?

  1. Crime enforcement and prevention: I find it unacceptable that any British Columbian would feel unsafe walking outside. Safety has not improved in Burnaby under the current government. I want to ensure that police forces have the tools they need to do their jobs. In addition, our justice system is broken. I want to ensure our justice system can prosecute violent criminals so they can cause no further harm to society.
  2. Healthcare: One in five British Columbians don’t have a family doctor. One in five British Columbians do not have access to the care they deserve. Additionally, excessive ER wait times are impacting all patients who visit hospitals. According to SecondStreet, 3,365 patients died in BC waiting for surgeries or diagnostic tests. Our healthcare system is not delivering.
  3. Housing affordability: Over the past seven years, homelessness has increased by 34%. A BC Conservative government will Get BC Building by cutting red tape and taxes to increase the housing supply. For immediate relief, we will offer the Rustad Rebate where rent and mortgage interest will be exempted from provincial income tax starting at $1,500 per month increasing to $3,000 per month within three years.

What is your housing situation? Are you a homeowner, renter or something else (describe)? Do you own any rental property/properties?

I am fortunate to own a condo.
