At least nine fire trucks lined Augusta Avenue on Tuesday afternoon as Burnaby firefighters fought a rooftop blaze at a three-storey apartment building.
Emergency crews were called to the 1600 block of Augusta, where a fire billowed black smoke into the sky atop the Augusta Springs condo complex.
Witnesses said two roofers were applying tar to the a few of the top floor condominiums when the tar caught fire. Dozens of onlookers watched as ladder after ladder extended to allow the fire department to reach the flames.
No injuries have been confirmed as crews are still on scene. Stay tuned to the NOW for more details.
