Burnaby still has some of the highest rents in Canada, according to the latest Rentals.ca report.
The company's February report shows prices again dropped in Burnaby with a one bedroom averaging $2,320 (down two per cent compared to December) in January and a two bedroom hitting an average of $3,009 (down 1.5 per cent compared to December).
Provincially, B.C. still leads the country with the highest average of $2,463.
The report says studio apartments, one-bedroom and two-bedroom rentals have all fallen two per cent annually.
Nationally, rents hit an average of $2,100 in January, equating to a 4.4 per cent decline compared to one year ago and reaching an 18-month low.
January was the fourth consecutive month that prices dropped in Canada after 38 months of annual rent increases.
Despite the drop, rent averages remain 5.2 per cent higher compared to two years ago and 16.4 per cent higher than three years ago.
