You can enjoy the resources of all four Burnaby Public Library branches for one hour more on Sundays starting May 26.
The libraries will now have Sunday hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., after previously closing at 5 p.m.
Beth Davies, chief librarian, told the Burnaby NOW weekends are when the library sees the highest demand for services and collections.
"As one of few remaining free public indoor spaces, we recognize the importance of the library for students, families, job seekers, newcomers, including people with limited options for computer access, Wi-Fi, study space and shelter," she said.
The expanded hours are supported by the library enhancements grant from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and ongoing support from the City of Burnaby.
We’re extending our Sunday hours!
