One man has been arrested after a residence in the 8300 block of 12th Avenue in the Edmonds area was investigated on Saturday for being a synthetic drug lab.

According to a Burnaby RCMP press release, police attended to the residence after receiving a call about a suspicious odour coming from the home.

When police arrived, their investigation led to the arrest of one man and the discovery of the synthetic drug lab.

Burnaby firefighters and paramedics attended the scene to assist with decontaminating the man while members of the RCMP clandestine lab team started with the safe dismantling of the lab. The work continued through Sunday, with neighbouring residents having to be evacuated while the work was being done.
