Short biography

Han Lee, a Burnaby South graduate, is committed to lowering the cost of living, improving public safety, and enhancing housing affordability. With strong ties to the community, he is the only major candidate who has lived in Burnaby South and understands its challenges firsthand.

Why are you running for provincial office?

I’m running for provincial office because I’ve seen firsthand how Burnaby South’s affordability, safety, and housing availability have worsened. As someone who has lived in this community, I know its potential, but we need better leadership to address these pressing issues. Under the current government, public safety has deteriorated, housing costs have skyrocketed, and families are being pushed out due to unbearable costs of living. I’m here to offer common sense solutions that will eliminate the carbon tax, reverse failed drug decriminalization policies, and streamline housing approvals so families can afford to live here. My priority is to restore affordability, safety, and opportunity for all residents of Burnaby South.

What are the top three issues facing Burnaby today, and what are your plans to address them?

  1. Housing Affordability: Housing prices and rent are out of control. The Conservative plan involves eliminating unnecessary red tape and streamlining the approval process for new developments, allowing for faster construction of affordable housing. We also propose the Rustad Rebate, which would provide immediate tax relief to homeowners and renters by exempting $3,000 of housing costs per month from provincial income taxes.
  2. Public Safety: Rampant drug use and rising crime have made our streets unsafe. The Conservative Party will reverse the NDP’s harmful drug decriminalization policies and ensure law enforcement has the tools they need to crack down on violent crime and restore order in our communities.
  3. Cost of Living: The carbon tax is increasing the cost of everything, from groceries to gas. I will eliminate the carbon tax, lower gas prices, and ensure families can keep more of their hard earned money.

What is your housing situation? Are you a homeowner, renter or something else (describe)? Do you own any rental property/properties?
