A Burnaby woman was the lucky ticket holder of a $1 million Maxmillions prize in the Aug. 12 Lotto Max draw.

Linda Spruston said the win is one for her whole family because she plans on sharing the wealth.

“My husband and I don’t have anything we want or need. Most of this money will go to my six children and my two sisters to make their lives better,” she explained in a press release.

Spruston plans to use the remainder of the cash to pay off her mortgage and make a donation to B.C. Children’s Hospital.

“It’s a wonderful feeling. There are times I’m on the SkyTrain, and I just want to grab somebody and tell them, ‘I’m a lottery winner,’” she said.

The winning ticket was bought at Lougheed Mall.
