The Fred Randall Pool at Edmonds Community Centre will re-open on Monday, Sept. 26, according to an update from the city.
The pool was closed on Saturday, May 21 after the discovery of damage to ceiling tile supports.
"The bulk of the work involved replacing the acoustic ceiling tile suspension system. Essentially, we’ve replaced all of the wires which suspend the ceiling tiles to the roof deck with alloy wires that resist corrosion," said Burnaby's public affairs officer, Cole Wagner.
The projected cost for the replacement project is estimated at $300,000.
Swimming lessons at the pool will restart in early October.
The Edmonds Community Centre has remained open, with no other activities at the centre affected by the pool closure.
The Edmonds pool has Aquafit classes, family swim times, lap swims, leisure-only swims and more. For more information, see the city's website and schedule.
