A Burnaby establishment has been named one of Canada's top restaurants for outdoor dining.
OpenTable has released a list of the best 100 eateries to help Canadians extend outdoor patio season based on establishments with the highest rated numbers, which includes Burnaby's Hart House Restaurant.
According to one of its surveys conducted, OpenTable says 45 per cent of B.C. residents are planning to continue dining outdoors far into the fall.
“For the first time ever, we’re releasing a best outdoor dining list in the fall, so anyone who wants to make the most of this year’s extended patio season can choose from among the best-rated patios in the country," OpenTable Canada spokesperson Matt Davis said in a release.
"Diners are determined to enjoy every last moment of the season, and restaurants are going above and beyond to make it happen."
OpenTable's list was conducted from diner reviews collected between June 1, 2020, and May 31, 2021.
All restaurants with a minimum overall score and number of qualifying reviews were selected for considerations.
The overall score comes from data points such as overall diner rating, user clout, the total number of reviews and regional overall rating.
Those restaurants that qualified were then scored and sorted based on the sum of tags for which "hot spot" was selected as a special feature.
Other B.C. cities with restaurants that cracked the top 100 included Victoria, Lake Country, Langley, Maple Ridge, Malahat, West Kelowna, Kelowna, Penticton, Delta, Vernon, Osoyoos, Oliver, White Rock, Mill Bay and Whistler.
