The Burnaby Blooms Festival is returning to Deer Lake Park on May 13 and 14.

It’s time to get out your sun hats and sundresses and dazzle in the picture-perfect beauty of Burnaby — in bloom.

Spring has now fully sprung and the city is blossoming, which means it’s time for one of Burnaby’s favourite springtime celebrations.

Burnaby Blooms, the spring event hosted by the City of Burnaby will take place at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and Deer Lake Park on Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14.

The festival will include gardening workshops (requires pre-registration), live entertainment from some of the local artists including Burnaby’s Lache Cercel and educational talks and tours.

Eco-artists Claire Davis and Siobhan D’Souza will also be present for the meet and greet on the festival days.

The festival, which has been expanded to a multi-day event, will then have a micro-event at Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area on Saturday, May 27, where people can participate in activities and demonstrations that are suitable for all ages.

Also don't forget to check out the Burnaby Farmers Market season opener this weekend.

A full event schedule, as well as pre-registration for workshops, is available online
