Burnaby residents got a taste of Fijian culture this weekend during the annual Fiji Festival held on Saturday, July 23, at Swangard Stadium. People gathered for a day of performances, singers, a soccer tournament, a fashion show and food. The festival opened with a yaqona ceremony, where guests of honour are served a special drink made from the dried roots of a type of pepper plant.
