A "complex" multi-jurisdictional investigation has led to drug charges against three men in Burnaby.

Federal RCMP investigators, with help from local police and specialized units, executed seven search warrants simultaneously in three Lower Mainland jurisdictions and the South Okanagan in July 2023, according to an RCMP news release Tuesday.

The raids turned up approximately 12 kilograms of cocaine and half a kilogram of crack cocaine, as well as smaller quantities of fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, $50,000 cash and ammunition, the release said.

Three men, Luis Sandoval, 40, Wesley Huston, 38, and Matthew Huston, 36, have now been charged with possession of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

The offences are alleged to have occurred in Burnaby, according to court documents.

The three accused are scheduled to appear in Vancouver provincial court Wednesday.

Supt. Tim Arseneault, the officer in charge of federal policing for drugs and organized crime in the Pacific region, said the investigation involved 60 municipal, provincial and federal police officers who executed an "intricate plan" in order to preserve evidence and maintain public and officer safety.

"This complex, multi-jurisdictional investigation highlights the collaborative nature of modern policing, as well as the resourcing capacity of the RCMP," Arsenault said in the release.
