Schools are open and the roads are better, but transit in Burnaby will still be slower than riders are used to.

That’s according to TransLink, which warns that snow is still falling and road conditions are troublesome in certain areas, especially side streets.

"Conditions have improved overnight and we’ve had crews working to rectify various issues which impacted services yesterday," notes TransLink via email.

"We expect transit services will be operating today, however service will be slower than normal, and customers should build in additional travel time. Our advice is to check transit alerts before travelling."

Several roads that were closed in Burnaby on Wednesday, including stretches of Delta Avenue in North Burnaby and Royal Oak Avenue in South Burnaby, have reopened.
