The COVID-19 outbreak at the Dania Home facility in Burnaby has been declared over.
In a statement this afternoon (Jan. 14), Fraser Health said with the implementation of comprehensive strategies to prevent and respond to COVID-19 in care facilities, there are no COVID-19 cases at the location.
The outbreak declared on Jan. 7, 2022, saw 24 lab-confirmed cases involving 17 residents and seven staff members.
There remain four long-term care facilities, as well as Burnaby Hospital, under COVID-19 outbreak declarations in Burnaby, including:

- Outbreak declared Jan. 4, 2022
- Total of 21 cases recorded as of Jan. 11, 2022, involving 10 residents and 11 staff members
- One death
- AgeCare Garniby Court
- Outbreak declared Dec. 26, 2022
- Total of 45 cases recorded as Jan. 11, 2022, involving 28 residents and 17 staff members
- Four deaths
- New Vista Care Centre
- Outbreak declared Dec. 29, 2021
- Total of 30 cases recorded as of Jan. 11, 2022, involving 12 residents and 18 staff members
- No deaths
- Chartwell Carlton Gardens
- Outbreak declared on Dec. 20, 2021
- Total of 17 cases recorded as of Jan. 11, 2022, involving six residents and 11 staff members
- Burnaby Hospital
- Outbreak declared Jan. 12, 2022
- Total of 13 cases to date involving residents
- Units affected: Surgical unit, acute care elders unit and a medicine unit
