Police are asking motorists to avoid the intersection of Boundary Road and Frances Street on the Burnaby-Vancouver border because of a serious crash involving a truck and a motorcycle Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the intersection just before 6:15 a.m. for reports of the collision, according to Burnaby RCMP.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital, but the truck driver, who remained at the scene, was unhurt, police said.

The northbound lanes of Boundary Road between Georgia and Pender streets have been shut down as police investigate; the southbound lanes remain open, according to Burnaby RCMP.

"It is currently unknown how long traffic will be affected," stated a post on the Burnaby RCMP X account. "Please plan an alternate route."
