A local organization is hoping to create new opportunities to build understanding.
The South Burnaby Neighbourhood House is hosting a workshop with the Safe Harbour program on Oct. 20, from 1 to 3 p.m.
The ongoing program, which has been offered in the past through both South Burnaby Neighbourhood House and the Burnaby Family Life Institute, invites local businesses and agencies to learn ways to provide equitable service in the community.
The workshops are intended for managers, frontline staff and customer service representatives, to help them be able to address discrimination, to explore stereotyping and diversity, and to provide practical steps to creating welcoming environments.
