Douglas Road was shut down in both directions between Sprott and Hardwick streets in Burnaby Wednesday as fire officials investigate an early morning house fire.
Fire crews were called to the 3600 block of Douglas Road just after 5:10 a.m. for reports of a house fire, according to assistant fire Chief Rick Crema.

On arrival, firefighters found a two-storey home "fully involved."
"There were flames and smoke coming out multiple sides," Crema said.
Firefighters had to fight the blaze from the outside because of a partial roof collapse, he said, but all occupants were accounted for.
Three residents have been displaced by the fire, according to Crema.
No information was available about the cause of the blaze or where it started.
"All that's under investigation right now," Crema said.
Investigators had yet to enter the fire-damaged home as of about 9:30 a.m.
"The building is unstable at this time," Crema said.
More than 30 fire department personnel and nine apparatus responded to the fire.
There were no injuries, according to Crema.
