Deer Lake may not be home to Burnaby’s most valuable residential property, but the area boasts five of the top 10 priciest homes in the city.
According to the latest figures put out by BC Assessment, Michael Bublé still owns the most expensive home in the city – a $22-million, 12,000-square-foot mansion atop two acres of land at 7868 Government Rd.
But the largest cluster of homes on Burnaby’s top 10 list can be found just east of Deer Lake, including the city’s second most expensive residential property – a mansion at 7629 Burris St. worth $10,691,000.
Four other homes in the neighbourhood were assessed in the more modest $5-million range: 6636 Deer Lake Dr. ($5,697,000), 5370 Buckingham Ave. ($5,732,000), 7466 Whelen Court ($5,306,000) and 5178 Sperling Ave. ($5,194,000).
Two other homes in Bublé's neighbourhood also made the list: 7558 Government Rd. ($5,849,000) and 8120 Hunter St. ($5,218,000).
The other two top-10 homes were at 7353 Braeside Dr.($5,748,000) in the Westridge neighbourhood and 909 Burnwood Ave. ($5,339,000) at the foot of Burnaby Mountain.
Together, Burnaby’s 10 most expensive residential properties have been valued at $80,303,000.
They gained a combined $7,585,000 in value since last year.
The 2023 BC Assessment figures put out this month are based on the assessed value of properties as of July 1, 2022.
