With British Columbia eyeing to move to step two of its restart plan one week from today, caseloads continue to hover at the numbers health officials want to see.
The latest BCCDC COVID-19 Surveillance Dashboard for May 31 to June 3, 2021, shows improvement province wide, while the four regional areas of Burnaby are continuing to see steady declines
The data is released by the BC Centre for Disease Control.
Yesterday (June 7), Deputy Provincial Health Officer Dr. Réka Gustafson announced 481 infections over the weekend including 218 people on June 5, 131 people on June 6 and 133 people yesterday.
The last time that the number of new infections in B.C. in a day was as low as 131 was on October 13, when 101 new people were identified as being infected.
As of yesterday, B.C. has provided 3,635,795 doses of vaccine to 3,321,549 people, with 314,246 of those getting needed second doses.
