Burnaby locals can cheer on the Vancouver Canucks Tuesday without going all the way downtown.
The City of Burnaby is hosting a free, family-friendly viewing party as the Canucks have the chance to finish off the Nashville Predators in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The Canucks are up three games to one in the series after a three-minute Brock Boeser hattrick bonanza and overtime winner courtesy Elias Lindholm at the end of Game 4.
The new Rosemary Brown Recreation Centre in South Burnaby will open a viewing area at 6:30 p.m. for fans to cheer and show their support.
The watch party will feature large-format screens on the second floor.
You can also purchase snacks and non-alcoholic beverages at the arena's café.
Parking will be limited, so the city encourages guests to commute via public transit or carpool.
The city plans to host more watch parties for games 6 and 7, should they be needed.
You can also head to the public plaza at Brentwood mall, where the game will be screened more informally.
