Mon Paris Patisserie

Brighten up your Easter baskets with colourful chocolate eggs, and cute chocolate chicks and ducks from Burnaby’s popular patisserie. The 2023 Easter Collection is filled with Easter-themed chocolate delights and sophisticated breakfast viennoiseries that are available now for pre-order online at monparis.ca/easter, with in-store pickup and takeout.

This year, owner and pastry chef Elena Krasnova aims to set the bar high with a limited-edition triple chocolate croissant, filled with rich chocolate custard and dark chocolate batons, baked until golden and then dipped in milk chocolate. The limited-edition croissant is available in store only from Friday, April 7 to Sunday, April 9.

Other Easter-treats include a chocolate duckling lollipop, filled with strawberry caramel on a stick; 'little chick,' which is a handcrafted chocolate character made entirely of white and milk chocolate; a chocolate Easter egg, which is a four-inch milk or dark chocolate Fabergé-style Easter egg with a colourful chocolate coating, decorated with spring flowers and a windowpane check pattern. It is filled with one piece of white chocolate and one piece of milk chocolate. The company also offers an eight-inch fruit and nut, milk or dark chocolate Easter egg with a smooth vibrant-coloured chocolate shell filled with caramelized nuts and dried fruits.

The business' assorted Easter pastry boxes, containing a spread of French pastries including butter croissants, blueberry puffs, fruit cups, almond double-baked croissants and Kouign-Amanns, can be pre-ordered online now for pickup on Easter weekend (closed Monday).

Chez Christophe

This award-winning chocolatier in Burnaby is hopping to find a place in our hearts with their new limited-edition Easter treats. The Easter Showpiece Collection available at both Chez Christophe locations will feature four unique, filled chocolate eggs.

The treats available in-store and by delivery include a “fashionably laid” black and gold or tri-colour chocolate egg, made of dark chocolate filled with corn puffs coated in dark and caramelized white chocolate. The “what came first?” chocolate egg is a combination of caramelized white chocolate outer egg shell with a milk chocolate interior, layered with almond praline and a dark chocolate hen inside. “Galaxy egg” is milk chocolate decorated with pink/blue/yellow dots in coloured cocoa butter and filled with corn puffs coated in milk chocolate and ruby chocolate. It's available for shipping across Canada.

This yearj's collection also includes five different kinds of chocolate Easter lollipops with two designs (bunny and hen) in milk, caramelized white and dark chocolate flavours; an Easter orange namelaka cruffin topped with mini-eggs and a limited edition (only in-store) "gateaux de voyage" carrot hazelnut cake with cinnamon ganache and glazed with dark chocolate and caramelized hazelnut pieces.

Chez Christophe is also celebrating its10th anniversary with a special Easter egg —  its 10-year signature anniversary egg, made from dark chocolate and marshmallow, coated in dark chocolate, filled with dragee (corn puffs coated in caramelized white and dark chocolate and freeze-dried cranberry coated in dark and white chocolate). To make it more fun, five of the 10-year signature eggs will include a “golden ticket” to a chocolate-making class (dates to be announced later).

The signature anniversary egg is available only for in-store pickup. Chez Christophe is open open on Good Friday, April 7 at 4717 Hastings Street, Burnaby.
