Godzilla will stomp through Burnaby this Saturday.

From 9 p.m. on June 22 to 4 a.m. on June 23, filming will disrupt Marine Way and intermittent traffic control will be present.

Nemo Productions crews will be filming an explosion special effect at 5820 Byrne Rd., with explosions happening three to four times through the night and into the wee hours of the morning. The filming may change due to weather conditions.

The Japanese kaiju recently traipsed through New Westminster, shutting down roads around Sixth Street and Columbia. It seemed as though Godzilla had wreaked havoc on the area.

"It was really nice having them," said Scott Harper, New West's film coordinator. "I thought they did a great job and we'd love to have more like it."

Harper said he spotted the film's big star, Bryan Cranston, on the streets during filming, as well.

Although the giant lizard won't be back to New West, they are expecting another big feature next month.

Tim Burton is coming to New Westminster and will film around Sixth Street and Columbia too - converting the police station's exterior to look like a San Francisco police station.

Burton is directing the movie Big Eyes and the filming is expected for mid-July. The drama movie is starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz.

Godzilla is expected to open in theatres on May 16, 2014.
