Metro Vancouver's grocery stores are reporting additional employee coronavirus (COVID-19) cases Wednesday, affecting workers at chains like Real Canadian Superstore and No Frills.

Loblaw Companies Ltd, the parent company of Superstore and No Frills provided updates to its COVID-19 employee case listings on April 21 indicating cases at the following stores in the Lower Mainland:

  • Real Canadian Superstore, 14650 - 104th Avenue, Surrey: The last day either of the two infected team members worked was on April 15 and 17.
  • Joti's No Frills Vancouver - 310 West Broadway, Vancouver: The last day the team member worked was on April 10.

Neither store has been listed as either a public exposure or workplace closure site by Fraser Health or Vancouver Coastal Health as of Wednesday morning.

Elsewhere in B.C., Loblaw reported a new store worker case at a Superstore located in Kamloops, in the Interior Health region.

While T&T Supermarket is owned by Loblaw, the Canadian Asian grocery chain lists its COVID-19 cases separately on its own site. However, T&T has not posted any new cases in British Columbia since April 15. That case is that of a part-time associate employed at the Chinatown outpost of T&T Supermarket in Vancouver, and that worker's last shift was on April 7.

Sobeys, Inc, the parent company of Safeway, Thrifty Foods, and franchisor of discount grocery chain FreshCo, has not added any new B.C. employee coronavirus cases to its case tracker since April 20.
