Sign: A game about communication, connection, and being understood

Artist Kay Slater is hosting a game inspired by the true story of Nicaraguan children who created their own sign language in the 1970s.

“Hearing players will experience the challenges of expressing themselves without a shared language and the joy of building one together,” says the event webpage. “Through this journey, we’ll explore how language shapes relationships and reveals our deepest desires.”

Later on, Slater will conclude the evening with a “silence sunset watch party” at 5:30 p.m.
