Here's when we'll see summer heat again in Burnaby

Expect a pleasant, springlike week this week — but next week could be hotter.

You'll need the sunglasses this week in Burnaby, but it won't be hot — yet. Expect a return to summer starting Sunday.

Burnaby is in for a pleasant, springlike week — but get ready for some more summer temperatures after that.

It's a mild 14 C in Burnaby now (as of about 8 a.m. on Monday, May 29), with the day's high projected to reach 20 C. It'll continue to be mainly sunny, though some cloudy periods may move in this afternoon.

That weather pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the week, according to the Weather Network's forecast, which calls for mainly sunny weather for most of the week. Tuesday and Wednesday should see highs of 17 C, while it'll reach 18 C on Thursday and 20 C on Friday.

The first chance of a shower is on Saturday, when the temperature is projected to hit 20 C.

That's when things look likely to start warming up, as Sunday's outlook calls for sunny skies and a high of 24 C that feels like 26 C; by Monday, that's up to a high of 28 C that feels like 31 C.
